Call for Scientific Poster Abstracts

The WAPMU Research Committee invites applicants to submit abstracts for posters to be presented virtually - winners will also receive scholarships to present live (podium presentation) at the 2025 WAPMU Summer Meeting (8/8/25 - 8/9/25)
WAPMU (World Academy of Pain Medicine United) is a multidisciplinary educational non-profit organization conducting practical CME-accredited courses and striving to provide practical and evidence-based approaches in procedural anatomy and injection techniques related to chronic pain conditions. Teaching of procedural techniques is based on published clinical and imaging studies and risk-benefit ratios. Our faculty includes anesthesiology, pain medicine, and PM&R specialists who practice, publish, and teach in the field of pain medicine.
RULES FOR SUBMISSION
All abstracts must be submitted and presented in English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. If you need help, please arrange for the review of your abstract by a colleague who is a native English speaker, by a university scientific publications office (or other similar facility), or by a copy editor, prior to submission.
The author is expected to attend the congress and present the Poster Presentation.

Important Dates and Meeting Information
Abstract Submission Deadline- July 1, 2025
Agreement: The author must warrant that:
The abstract is being submitted with full knowledge and consent of all contributing authors.
The material being submitted does not violate the copyright of any third party.
Selection Criteria and Evaluation - Each submission will be reviewed for the following elements: (a) scientific quality, (b) broad appeal to the interests of the membership, and (c) timeliness of the topic. Members of the WAPMU Research Committee will review abstracts.
Notification - Abstract notification will be made to the abstract submitter by July 7, 2025.
Virtual Poster Session – Tuesday, July 29, 2025
Top presentations will be selected as Best Poster and will receive WAPMU TRAVEL AWARD SCHOLARSHIP (for the upcoming conference in Chicago - 08/2025) - 1st Place: $1000 , 2nd Place: $500, 3rd Place: $300.
Award Information:
WAPMU recognizes that submissions of high quality, accepted for presentation at this meeting, should be acknowledged. The WAPMU Planning Committee has reserved time during the Saturday, August 9 lunch program for scientific poster sessions.
Awards for the top 3 abstracts are as follows:
1st place - $1000
2nd place - $500
3rd place - $300
