The WAPMU Young Physician Committee invites abstract submissions for podium presentations at the
2026 WAPMU Annual Meeting, taking place February 27–28, 2026, at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, Clearwater, Florida.
We welcome original research in:
Spine care (surgical or non-surgical)
Pain medicine
Related fields
Abstract Opportunities & Recognition
Top-scoring abstracts will be showcased during the Saturday Lunch Session on February 28.
Submissions will be peer-reviewed by members of the Young Physician Committee based on:
Scientific or clinical significance
Ethical standards
Study design and methodology
Awards for Top 3 Abstracts
Complimentary registration to the 2026 WAPMU Annual Meeting
Two nights’ hotel accommodation at Sheraton Sand Key Resort
$300 honorarium
Submission Guidelines
Please follow the required abstract structure:
Format:
Introduction / Statement of the Problem
Materials and Methods
Results
Conclusions
Requirements:
Abstracts must be no longer than 500 words
One (1) primary presenter per submission
Clearly and succinctly represent the content of your presentation
No abbreviations; use sentence case, not ALL CAPS
Avoid using “&” unless part of an official name
Proofread carefully for grammar and spelling
The abstract must not have been accepted for publication elsewhere
All presenters must review and approve the submission
Submissions that do not follow these guidelines may be rejected.
Commercial Support Policy
To maintain academic integrity, presentations must avoid commercialism. Promotional content will not be accepted.
If the project received any financial support, it must be clearly acknowledged in the abstract. For example:
“The support of [Company/Institution] for this project is gratefully acknowledged.”
All statements made in the presentation are solely those of the author/presenter and do not reflect the positions of the WAPMU Planning Committee.
Selection Process
Submissions will be reviewed by clinical experts from the WAPMU Young Physician Committee. Evaluations will focus on:
Scientific/clinical relevance
Ethical research practices
Study design quality
Presenter Requirements
If your abstract is accepted:
You will be required to complete a Presenter Information Form and a Faculty Disclosure Form
Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 25, 2026
Authors of abstracts accepted as e-posters must register for the meeting and pay the applicable registration fee (no waivers) in order for their e-poster to be displayed in the exhibit area.

All listed presenters have reviewed and approved the submission
The presenting author agrees to attend and present, if selected
