“Innovations in Pain Medicine”

The WAPMU's 6th Annual Meeting and Workshops, taking place February 15-16, 2020 in Miami, FL. USA and has already made news in professional outlets and websites. Over the past ten years our members and workshop attendees have contributed to success of our society to become a respectable international organization with almost 2,300 members, excellent faculty and worldwide multiple CME-accredited events.  We have invited renowned speakers and workshop instructors from the USA, Canada, UK, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Morocco, Spain and Brazil. The entire WAPMU faculty will be in attendance.

The program is meticulously prepared by WAPMU Scientific Committee to highlight important subjects in ultrasonography and clinical aspects of chronic pain medicine. The program includes didactic presentations and hands-on cadaver workshop.

Social activities are planned such as a Saturday night networking reception and a Sunday Bruch.

To improve knowledge of normal cervical, thoracic and lumbosacral spine and paraspinal anatomy, and to demonstrate and coach spine injection techniques:

Cervical medial branch block, Cervical selective nerve root block, Thoracic medial facet joint block, Lumbar medial branch/facet joint block, Subarachnoid injection, Caudal epidural injection,  Sacroiliac joint injection. Radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation techniques with ultrasound guidance will be discussed as extracurricular topics

 Neurosonology

To improve knowledge of normal anatomy, to discuss and demonstrate common and uncommon sites of entrapment neuropathies, to discuss strategies for prevention of perioperative nerve injuries, to demonstrate practical nerve mapping technique,  to coach  injection techniques:

Cervical sympathetic trunk, Suprascapular nerve, Illonguinal/iliohypogastric nerve, Greater occipital nerve, Median nerve at wrist, Ulnar nerve at cubital canal,  Intercostal nerve, Tibial nerve at tarsal canal, Pudendal nerve, Superior hypogastric block. Cryoablation techniques with ultrasound guidance will be discussed as extracurricular topics

Musculoskeletal

Demonstrate and coach  the following musculoskeletal injection techniques:

AC joint, Bicep tendon (peri), Glenohumeral Joint (any approach),  Subdeltoid bursa, Medial or lateral epicondyle, injection/fenestration,  Piriformis injection, Hip joint injection, Trochanteric bursa injection, Knee joint injection, Distal ITB peritendon injection, Tibiotalar joint injection
